Our client
OC Sport Pen Duick is the French subsidiary of the OC Sport group in charge of offshore sailing events. A leader in the sector, the group has developed unique expertise in professional sailing, drawing on a dual know-how in team management and the organisation of the most prestigious races (La Route du Rhum - Destination Guadeloupe, ARKEA ULTIM CHALLENGE - Brest, The Transat CIC, La Solitaire du Figaro Paprec, la Transat Paprec, Le Tour de Belle-Île, and more).
Evolution and new challenges
Since 2019, and in a context of strong growth, the OC Sport Pen Duick team has changed considerably in size: new premises, the recruitment of around ten employees (for a total of 20 people), new management processes, and the professionalisation of operational project management methods.
To address this, OC Sport Pen Duick decided to be supported by BOOST in order to:
- Boost team spirit
- Strengthen the sense of purpose within the company project, the WHY
The BOOST solution
To address OC Sport Pen Duick's challenges, BOOST proposed ongoing team-based support, with one priority goal: recreating lasting collective momentum within the organisation.
2 guiding principles:
- Creating a team of Captains, capable of carrying the torch, driving and supporting change.
- A hybrid approach: individual coaching for the Captains and team-based support for the group.
The equivalent of 1.5 days of facilitation, with preparation time so that each Captain could fully play their role and the key moments could be as useful as possible.
In the end, nearly 4 months of support helped embed the desired changes over time.
Addressing specific needs
BOOST's facilitation of team sessions can adapt perfectly. In this case, the proposed framework was delivered, while also being adjusted along the way to best meet the team's needs.
For these team workshops, we recommend certain exercises (the WHY, the football pitch, superpowers...) and role-play scenarios. These are fully interchangeable depending on the energy of the moment and the prioritisation to be done with the Manager.
Here, the BOOST team chose the WHY as the first exercise, to get the whole team thinking beyond their tasks, beyond their roles.
I couldn't start this week without sending you my warm thanks for last week's seminar.
You brought the structure we expected, and substance that will obviously make people think. And, perhaps even more valuable, the kindness needed to allow the teams to open up and share.
There was that little extra spark that makes all the difference. I believe the teams left this seminar fired up.
Time for results!
These BOOST team workshops created a genuine awareness across the whole team of its ability to take charge, better manage its priorities, and work more closely TOGETHER! Thanks to these workshops, they also realised that team spirit is something you build and organise, in order to be effective and to really collaborate.
