The company.

Based near Lausanne (Switzerland) FWT Management S.A. owns and manages the Freeride World Tour and the Verbier Bike Festival

The Freeride World Tour (FWT) was launched in 2008 and is now recognized by riders, the ski industry and the media as the competitive pinnacle of the sport. The world's best freeriders: men, women, skiers and snowboarders alike, visit some of the world’s most renowned ski resorts in pursuit of the world title. 

In December 2022, the FWT announced that it is marking an historic moment by merging with the FIS, who is acquiring all FWT properties (The FWT pro by Peak performance, the FWT Challenger, the FWT Qualifier, the FWT Junior and The FWT Academies. The two organizations have been joining forces since the FWT23 season.

👉Good knowledge of outdoor / winter sports (ability to ski / snow for obvious events environment reasons)

Skills

👉Proven team management skills.

👉Fluent in English and French; additional languages are a plus.

👉Strong media expertise, understanding TV, digital, social media, and event dynamics.

👉Proven ability to develop and manage communication strategies and their budgets.

👉Commercial and negotiation skills to handle communications budget.

Missions

As the Head of Communications of the Freeride World Tour, you will lead communication and production efforts, ensuring smooth execution of plans with internal and external teams. You will define strategic messaging, identify trends, optimize content distribution, and act as the main contact for partners, media, and field teams to drive project success.

1. Team Management and Strategic Planning

  • Lead, structure, and manage the Communication and Production teams (6-10 members).
  • Ensure smooth team operations and alignment with overall strategic goals.
  • Define key messages and core narratives to shape the overall communication strategy.
  • Develop and manage the communication budget, ensuring alignment with seasonal objectives.
  • Design and implement a comprehensive communication and production plan in line with the available resources and marketing/sponsorship goals.
  • Coordinate cross-functional efforts for seamless execution of projects

2. Communication Strategy Execution & Event Production

  • Oversee live production of all Freeride World our properties, in collaboration with the production team.
  • Supervise the distribution of content through media partnerships and third-party distribution platforms.
  • Create storyboards and oversee content production from shooting to final editing.
  • Integrate new digital communication technologies and innovative content distribution methods.

3. External Relations & Internal Support

  • Foster strong relationships with partners, media representatives, and destination communication teams.
  • Provide qualitative reporting on all events and media properties.
  • Support the commercial team with creative partnership activations and measurable brand integrations.
  • Maintain up-to-date brand guidelines to ensure consistent visual identity across all communications.

Location : Lausanne with frequent travel throughout the year, in particular during the season (january - march)

Remote Work : Two days per week.

Start Date : ASAP.

Contract Type : Permanent Contract, 90% or 100%
